Pretty girls Don’t Gatekeep
When my husband and I first got married one of the biggest struggles we had in integrating our lives was our finances. I learned just how basic he kept his finances. Two regular checking accounts and regular savings with his local bank. Two credit cards with extremely low limits. This shook me to my core. No HYSA? Where are your investment accounts? Why would you pay your bills with a debit card and why haven’t you requested limit increases as I’m sure medium size purchases were affecting his score every time. In learning this I came to a realization not many people know the basic ways to secure financial freedom. I’m not a financial advisor and in no way ever intend to be but I’ve worked in finance for years and picked up a fee tips along the way . Need to know how to create a budget for your paycheck, want to know my top rated HYSA accounts, want to know how you can earn ten to twenty times higher for your savings, I got you because pretty girls don’t gate keep.
the 3 master steps of success
1-2-3 easy peasy steps

Before you can even begin to get your finances in order you need to take inventory! When we first got married I learned my husband didn’t even know how to view his 401k. So, you mean to tell me you give these people 5% of your paycheck for years and you don’t know how to view it! For so many this is the case. It’s more important than anything to take an overall look at your finances to see what’s coming and going in your finances. Inventory is essential!
02
Once you know where your money is going you can then begin to understand where the problem lies. You can categorize to see where you’re overspending and where you have room to put some funds towards investing and savings. This is a key step you need to take because it launches you into taking back control of your finances. Visuals have a way of bringing things together for your brain to better digest making putting together a game plan so much easier.
03
Now that you’ve taken inventory of finances, know all the money that’s coming and going, and begin to understand where the problem is you can now seek a solution to forever change youre financial situation. We can see where there’s opportunity for improvement and implement practices to make that happen, we can research and find the best accounts to place your funds to earn the highest yields, we can develop a budget that works for your family. We can START, because we all know that’s the hardest part.
Five things to do right now to take control of your finances!
The First Step Is Always the Hardest
01Girl, cancel that subscription. You enjoyed that one make up delivery subscription at one point in time but now you have a collection of makeup that you don’t use taking up mental space in your mind and cluttering up your home but you’re too addicted to the dopamine of the delivery to stop wasting that $30. Do yourself a favor and cancel it
.
02Create yourself a budget. Just because you don’t know what bills are coming out this check doesn’t mean they will go away. Right down every single item that normally comes out of that check and give yourself a allotment for different spending categories and save and invest the rest. Every dollar in that account needs an intention !
.
03Watch one video to increase your knowledge. You don’t know what you don’t know! Education is everything in finances. Find someone reputable/creditable and seek to learn someone knew about how to better your finances every week.
.
04Go through your transaction history for your credit cards. It’s almost funny how predictable we humans are. If there is a trend to your spending splurges the only way to know is to search for it !
05Start a savings goal I absolutely love these things and trust me they work. 2500 seems like a lot till you break it down realize it’s only $5 a day. You can find plenty of these on Pinterest or check out a few of mine in my blog “How to save 5000 in a year with low income.” Or 10,000 Savings Plan worksheet.

the Burning Questions
We know you have them
Quite a few questions come across my desk but some more than others. Check out some of the most frequently asked questions for an interior designer.
Question 1
How do I help?
→I can’t advise you on what you should do but what I can do is provide knowledge I’ve worked for one of the largest banks in the world getting direct training and knowledge on how products work and things you should look for worked firsthand with accounts handling hundreds of thousands to million dollar accounts and gotten first hand knowledge from those account holders on how they built their wealth. I took that and directly implemented it into my life and after years of practice and research I’m comfortable enough to share the knowledge God has blessed me with to others who are where I was five years ago.
Question 2
Where do I start?
→
There technically isn’t a right answer to this because honestly it’s going to be different for everyone, the most important thing is you do start ! If you want to know some places you can begin your debt free or financial journey check out some of my blog post that walk you step by step on how to begin. They discuss how to to break this journey down into manageable tasks so it’s doesn’t overwhelm you. If you’re like me looking at your five year goal of being debt free is paralyzing. Like legitimately will make you quit before you begin, PARALYZING. You need a game plan and I explain exactly how to make one.
Question 3
What’s the best way to get and stay motivated during my debt free journey ?
→Remember what I said earlier about visuals? Get them and use them! I use visuals for EVERYTHING. Never under estimate the power of coloring. I have debt payoff trackers for every debt I’m paying and every time I make a payment I color just a little bit more in on them. It does wonders to keep me motivated during this journey slowly helping me to chug along on the most difficult days and I can only hope it’ll be the same for you. Who said paying off debt couldn’t be fun?!
Question 4
Which budgeting method should I use?
→There is going to be so many people telling you during this journey which budget to use and I just don’t want to add to the trend. I can’t tell you this is how you should budget your funds because which budget is going to work best for you is going to depend on you. Try Dave Ramseys method, break your check into into the 50/30/20 rule, etc etc. Try them all! You won’t know what’s best for you till you try and find what’s best for you! My best advice is don’t be ashamed to try them all till you find a fit for you and your family’s needs.
