Hi, I’m Faye and WELCOME

Hi, I’m Faye Grider and welcome to my website!

A little meet and greet for any visiting newbies.  I’m a working wife and mama of two amazing little boys Jaylen and Alex, and one sweet baby girl Alecia. I’m your typical millennial mom who’s just trying to figure it out just like everyone else in this huge place but I’m learning to give up my control more and more each day and follow God’s lead!

I’m a creative at heart

living her best life

I was a nerd growing up, so I think it shook no-one when I opened my own business and started my real estate journey. Everyone in my circle just knew I’d become a doctor, nurse practitioner, lawyer, or do something in finance. I’m more than just that thought though,  I’ve always been a creative at heart and found the most joy in making things with my hands.

I seriously love anything that gets me moving and using my creative juices.

Creating functional, organized, but also aesthetically pleasing homes is my favorite pass time. Whether it’s designing built ins for a small entryway, creating custom throw pillows for a lounge room, doing trim work on my daughters nursery wall, it’s all the same to me.

My journey started here way back when…

I started deciding to stop letting life happen to be but instead start playing offense. I was working a job in finance getting calls day in and day out with two kinds of people. Some calls were people with hundreds of thousands calling to manage their accounts, and then there was the second group of calls which was entirely different. It would be people with calling with zero knowledge of banking and finance, completely lost to this wealth building thing with no idea on what they should be doing with their money. I know this sounds cliche but they were working for their money instead of their money working form them!

They were at a disadvantage, just like me having to live playing defense because they LACKED KNOWLEDGE.

Can you believe it?

And then I discovered I had to do this …

I could not for the life of me figure out why God placed me in that job. He made a way for me to get the job. Told me turn away from my nursing school journey where I would potentially be making a ton as a traveling nurse to work at this finance job where the only benefit was the fact that I was able to work from home with my babies. But I obeyed, and I stayed, and I learned, and I saw ! I saw first hand the wealth gap between races, I saw first hand the ignorance gap, I saw first hand the correlation between the financial knowledge and wealth building. And after almost three years at this job it’s like my eyes finally opened to why he placed me here.

Finance always came so easily to me. I just got math. Its an area where things just came to me. That’s not to say I didn’t struggle myself with financial discipline because having financial literacy and being financially disciplined are two entirely different things! But the point is I was so busy trying to force my own plan that even though God was illuminating the path I was supposed to be walking on!  He placed me at the job to rediscover my love for finance and to walk into my calling. He needed me to bring the his light into the finance industry and help his children build the generational wealth he instructed them to do. To teach his children how not to play defense but play offense in their finances, to walk in the authority he gave them over it !

So the journey began ….

01

First I had to practice what I was instructed to preach

Let me just put this out here again. Knowledge and discipline are two different things. I had the knowledge and not the discipline and before God allowed me to stand in front of his children and try to instruct anything he convicted me on preparing my own finances. When I bought my first home we were starting with almost no debt outside of the typical car and student loan duo. See I had paid most things off and gotten debt free before and so after purchasing our home when repairs and needed improvements starting coming back to back I didn’t think twice to put in on our cards because I knew I got debt free before and could do it again.

Preparing for the calling

02

The Preparation

Welllll, this obviously is how most people get themselves in trouble with credit card debt but I saw the checks rolling in and so when you’re in a season like that the nonchalant attitude and ignorance will land you somewhere you don’t want to be. So I started my journey to becoming debt free and shared it on social media for the world to know. Why, because I couldn’t walk into what he was calling me into without preparing myself and my family on that same path. See how was I going to show people that it was possible and make them believe in themselves and what they were capable without showing them how. God gave me the authority, and I had to believe, do it, and show it for people to be able to see it. I believed God gave me the authority but I was putting off the action to tackle it because I thought I had time.

Just go full force and don’t look back

03

The Trap

Which is the trap most people fall into. It reminds me of a chapter in Taming the To-Do List by Glynnis Whitwer where she talks about the trick of the enemy and how one of his biggest tricks is watering down how we see the consequences of our actions. Her example referenced more towards how we don’t see the big impact of our procrastination . “Oh, it’s only one more day,” but then you wake up 5 years later and you still haven’t been obedient to the last thing God told you to do and wondering why you feel like you’re not progressing. It’s the easiest trick of the enemy and one of his best tricks. It’s making us think we have time.

Now is always better than later

04

Don’t believe the lie

It’s the exact same concept with finance. I know you have tomorrow to pay that bill, or change those accounts over. I know that you only let this bill fall behind this once and you have another check coming in two weeks and that’s when you plan on paying that thing off. I also know you won’t. How do I know that, well because I am you and we are the same, and I know that the enemy has used a lack of knowledge and this trick to block the path to financial freedom for so many of God’s children! Don’t believe the lie. You don’t have tomorrow, you shouldn’t wait, there is no better time. God can not and will not give you the next step till you complete the one he already gave you.
