3 Easy Ways to Become More Organized

Family

Look running an entire home will never be an easy thing, and that’s the first thing you need to understand. I know there are women out there who make it look easy, but we all have to get to a point where we realize that they are struggling in some way too. I’ve had people ask me how I seem to always have it together and I immediately tell them it’s because I’m falling apart in another area. It’s never going to be possible to run a seamless smooth ship. However, there are things you can implement to make it easier on you, because the goal of becoming more organized should be focused on the benefit of your own self and you’re mental health and not the appearance for others. So, here is three things I’ve implemented in the last twelve months to become a more organized person that may help you do the same.

1. I have a visible calendar that I put every event for that month on
So, I use to buy multiple planners fill them out and then never open them outside of going to the daily section. I know who does that . The problem with it is I would miss anything I’d put on that calendar making it pointless. Once I realized the problem wasn’t the planner but I needed to figure out how my brain worked. It made me realize the importance of visibility in my house hold. So, now before every month I fill out an events calendar with baseball games and practices, weekend events, birthdays, anything that’s important for my kids schedule and I hang that calendar above my desk in my direct eye view and it’s been such a life changer. I do the same for my bills on their on calendar. Never underestimate the power of easy access.

2. I created a cleaning schedule. I’m someone who gets decision paralysis. I will spend all day unable to decide on what to clean meanwhile my children are adding to the clutter and mess second by second. I use to think this was something that was a waste of time but the second I posted one near my desk I saw why people did it. I have a few rooms listed for each day of the week and I’m not very strict with it. Of course I will straighten up the rest of the house but I focus on those particular rooms each day, and it makes when I clean the entire house once a week so much more manageable. It will take me 2-3 hours to deep clean my entire house on Saturday instead of the usual 5-6. Worth a try!

3. Offload some of your task. Now hold up you may think this is cheating but trust me its not. The requirements for women now-a-days is why almost 30% of young women experience some kind of mental disorder: anxiety, depression etc. This in comparison to men who’s statistic is closer to 1 in 8 is alarming. We cant do it all and God didn’t intend for us to do it all. Although our budget is tight there are somethings I’ve chosen to outsource because it makes more sense. You don’t have to necessarily do these but see what you can afford to outsource that will make the most difference in your house. For me one else example is I do not clean my car. Cleaning the house is a whole thing so the time and mental load of thinking about tackling my car that me and my children live out of basically during sports season is an entire thing. I definitely cant afford an expensive detail but my husband is law enforcement and so once a month he will take my car to the prison and they will deep detail my car for twenty bucks. They do such an amazing job so of course we tip them, but its double duty. They help me by being so thorough and we help them to afford some extras during their hard times. Many of them don’t have much income coming in and they are the most grateful and kind people I’ve ever met. So if you have a jail near you check out some things they may offer to the community. I say all that to say you don’t have to spend a ton of money but you absolutely need to find someone to offload some of your tasks for your mental health, do delivery for groceries, get your car detailed , hire a house cleaner, and don’t you dare feel guilty about it .
